The safety valve ensures that the cartridge shuts itself off if it loses contact with the gas lantern. Gas cartridges are available from our Cosi partners, garden centers, and hardware stores. Simply screw the gas cartridge into the bottom of the lantern and then light the lighter while holding it close to the focal point. Only then turn the control knob to open it.
